Hello

My name is Folake Dosu. I scribbled on the walls as a toddler and never stopped writing. 🖊️I believe in the power of narrative change and storytelling as a force for good. I’m drawn to people and platforms that value and build community, culture and connection. You may have seen me sharing insights as an entrepreneur in the following places:

Work

From nonprofit and for-profit to startups and Fortune 500, my work is a constellation. 💫 Versatility, curiosity and passion connect the dots.Previously, I led fan engagement as an executive at The Walt Disney Studios, engaging superfans through The Walt Disney Studios’ reimagined loyalty platform, now Disney+ Perks. 📣Lately, you’ll find me bringing my expertise into the philanthropy sector, working with nonprofits, foundations and other mission-driven organizations to invest in community-first programming, content and tools driving growth and engagement. 🚀I’m also the founder of Trivia For The Culture, hosting Black trivia events as a former JEOPARDY! Contestant. You can also check out Find Your People Here, my running list of communities for diverse professionals. 💼

About

I grew up and currently live in the Chicago area and will gladly let you know its many virtues immediately upon meeting you. ✶ ✶ ✶ ✶My winter-dodging ways led me to California, first to Stanford 🌴 (BA in Science, Technology and Society), and then, after working in Chicago's startup scene, returned to the Bay, this time to UC Berkeley 🐻 (MBA). While there, I pivoted to entertainment and moved to LA ☀️ after graduation, where I became a marketing leader at Disney. Now, I'm currently consulting nonprofit clients while open to full-time opportunities for the right roles.Shifting my focus to the impact sector is a full circle moment rather than a pivot. I've always brought a lens for justice to my work as a champion for untold stories, whether spotlighting social issues, supporting local news or highlighting Black history through trivia. When I'm not wielding the power of fan engagement on behalf of mission-driven organizations, I'm a fan of many things: ask me about music, independent media, food, documentaries and vintage. 💗
